Bi Polar Awareness Training

Manic depression, also known as bi-polar affective disorder, is a mood disorder, characterised by swings in a person's mood from high to low - euphoric to depressed.

For those who care for people with bi polar, getting the right training to be able to recognise and respond to behavioural changes and translate that into providing the individuals affected with the best quality of life is absolutely vital and this course explores all the strategies which can be implemented and certainly raises peoples level of knowledge.

 This two-hour course covers the following subjects:

  • Symptoms
  • Prevention
  • Treatment
  • Additional Resources
  • Carers attitudes and behaviours.

By the end of the session delegates will be able to:
  • List ways of reducing the impact
  • State common treatments
  • Discuss the ways in which carers attitudes and behaviour can impact on the service user
  • Identify current drugs that are used in the treatment of Bi-Polar
