Paediatric First Aid

Course Description:

This course is specifically designed around the first aid of young children and provides carers with the knowledge and practical know how required in an emergency situation.

On day one you will cover the four main subject areas:

  • Act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
  • Administer Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Administer first aid to an uncontious casualty
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded or bleeding
On day two you will cover the following subjects:
  • Anaphylactic shock
  • Asthma
  • Croupe
  • Sickle cell
  • Poisoning
  • Nose bleeds etc.
By the end of the course students will be able to recognise and give basic treatment for child related medical contitions.
