OCR Level 3 in NVQ in Occupational Health & Safety
This NVQ is designed to reflect the work of candidates with health and safety responsibilities. It is appropriate for candidates who are working in the area of general health and safety practice and who are involved in the assessment of risks, the identification of hazards and determining strategies for control. NVQ's are where a portfolio of evidence is submitted by the student and this is assessed to determine your levels of competence. The course is made up of a number of units (subject areas) and for each unit you have to produce evidence that you are competent e.g. if unit 1 requires that you demonstrate understanding of Hazards and risks then you may want to put your risk assessments in the porfolio of evidence to demonstrate this. Your assessor would then have a look at the evidence and determine whether you are indeed at level three. If you were, then you would be signed off and can move onto the next unit, if the assessor thought that you were not at that level then you would simply work with you assessor on a one to one basis until your levels of competence were acceptable for the qualification. With health and safety NVQ's you will find that the SMARTER that you work, the easier the procces becomes and the quicker you get through the qualification. Our tutors at Beyond Learning are something that we are very proud of and they will be with you through every step to ensure that the course is delivered as effectively as possible. Membership of the Institute of Occupational Health & Safety is also possible after completion of this qualification and you will certainly benefit from this as a safety adviser/manager, have a look at their website.
